Dustin Greenwood was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on May 31, 1986. The native of Palmyra, Virginia has a Bachelor's of Science in sport management from Concord University and a Master's of Science in health promotions from Virginia Technical University. Dustin played wide receiver and quarterback at Concord University, where he also competed on the track and field team in the hurdles, javelin, long jump, 4x100 meters and decathlon. He was first introduced to the sport of bobsled by his boss at Elite Speed Sports Performance, Jim Hendricks. He started talking about finding something to train for. Jim had been recruited to the sport before and mentioned that Dustin and he start training for the team. He was also encouraged by his friend and skeleton athlete, Veronica Day.

FUN FACTS

- He was a strength and conditioning graduate assistant with Virginia Tech athletics from 2009-2011.
- He was a walk on in college, for track and field and football, but was named team captain on the football team and contended for conference track and field athlete of the year.
- He attended Fluvanna County High School, home of the Flying Flucos. Fluvanna has been in contention for the worst mascot in the nation, but he loves being a Fluco and wouldn't change it.
