Chris Burgess

Athlete Bio#

Hometown

Glen Gardner

Chris Burgess became interested in the sport of skeleton after watching the 2002 Winter Olympics.  "Skeleton reminded me of going down a hill headfirst on a skateboard like I did as a kid, so it seemed like a natural fit," he said.  Burgess graduated from Rutgers University in 2004 with a degree in Exercise Science, and began his skeleton career shortly after that.  His favorite career moment so far was winning gold in Lake Placid in the America's Cup last season.

ABOUT ME

When he's not training, Chris enjoys cooking and barbecuing.  His favorite aspect of the sport of skeleton is "the people, both on the US and international teams."
